I know there are others out there that have tried just about everything. Am I crazy or just curious? I love trying new things and I love it when I meet other people that venture out like I do! Believe me when I say I’m not bragging. I think I just have ADD. If you have tried everything artist under the sun make a comment so I know I’m not alone!
Drawing with colored pencils, charcoal, pastels, inktense (which are awesome btw)

I started painting with acrylics about 4 months ago with the goal of painting a picture to put over our fireplace. I did it! This is made of 4 panels that measure 24″ square.
Here are a couple of little watercolors. I love painting clouds and the sea.
This is a mixed media of a Steller’s Jay that I did at a watercolor class taught by Karen Knutson.
I have taken up oil painting!! I was so inspired by Michael O’Connor at the Casitas De Gila that I couldn’t reisist! After reading “Alla Prima” by Richard Schmid and doing all the color charts I decided to give it a go. As of now I’m only working from photos and still life but I hope to gain enough confidence to paint en plein air at some point.
This is my first oil painting! It is very tiny. Only 5′ x 7″ but I am very proud of it. The background could use work but I’m very happy with it for a first time oil painting!
This second! oil painting is from a picture of an arch right near Moab, UT. I’m not sure if it is actually in the park but it is very much like many of them. I’m super happy with the rocks but the junipers leave a little to be desired. 8″ x 10″
Sweetheart Lake, AK. This oil painting is also from a picture I took. This is Upper Sweatheart Lake near Snettisham, AK. The only way to get there is to hike ( a very long hard hike!) or by float plane. What a lovely, remote place it is!
I still need to do the shore. Can’t quite get it right. 8 x 10
